Shark Tank India has revolutionized entrepreneurship in the country. Numerous young minds with their start-ups appeared in the show to lure investors to show interest in their ideas and help them grow with the major investments offered by them by having some share of equity in it.
In the upcoming session of Shark Tank India 2, Ashneer Grover, and Ghazal Alagh are out, and Amit Jain is entering the picture.
Who is Amit Jain?
Amit Jain is the CEO and co-founder of Car Dekho. It is an e-commerce platform for selling and buying used cars. Amit belongs to Jaipur and has studied at IIT Delhi. In the earlier days of his career, he worked with a company in Austin, Texas. He then started his first start-up there. Later, he started another start-up Car Dekho with his brother in 2007, and it turned out to be a billion-dollar company.
Ashneeer was the founder of BharatPe, a fintech company. He was later removed from his position due to a number of controversies, for alleged fraud. The show garnered him a lot of criticism from the audience for being rude and arrogant. While there was also another set of audience who liked his no-nonsense attitude.
The Shark Tank India 1 garnered huge popularity overnight and marked a great success due to the affable nature of sharks. The one-liners and friendly banter of judges were rejoiced by the audiences and resulted in numerous meme moments on social media.
The other sharks from season 1, are Vineeta Singh, CEO of sugar cosmetics, Anupam Mittal, founder of the matrimonial site, Shaadi.com, Peyush Bansal, CEO of Lenskart, Namita Thapar, CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd., and Aman Gupta, founder of Boat would be returning to the Shark Tank India 2.
Vineeta Singh, CEO of sugar cosmetics
Vineeta Singh left her hometown at the age of 23 and stayed in a quaint space in Mumbai. She founded the cosmetic brand, Sugar, which embarked on a huge success.
Anupam Mittal, CEO of Shaadi.com
Anupam Mittal is the founder of Shaadi.com, a famous matrimonial site. He owns several most expensive cars. He is an avid angel investor. Mittal has started shooting for Shark Tank Season 2.
Peyush Bansal
Peyush Bansal is the CEO and founder of Lenskart. He was brought up in New Delhi. Peyush Bansal has done Honors Bachelor of Engineering from McGill University in Electrical with majors in Control and Automation, IT branch.
Namita Thapar
Namita Thapar is the Executive Director of the Emcure Pharmaceuticals. She made an investment of $10 crore in 25 businesses.
Aman Gupta
Aman Gupta garnered huge popularity from Shark Tank India season 1. He is the founder and CMO of boAT, a headset company. Aman Gupta was born in Delhi. He has done his schooling at Delhi Public School, RK Puram. He graduated from Delhi University in Commerce. He then qualified the chartered accountancy and became a certified CA.
New Hosts of the Show
The stand-up comedian Rahul Dual will be hosting Shark Tank India Season 2. Actress Gauhar Khan will be co-hosting the show. Season 1 was hosted by Rannvijay, who has been the judge of Roadies with Rajiv Laxman, and Raghu Ram.
