The chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani announced to launch of 5G services in the selected cities of the country by Diwali in the 45th Annual General Meeting of the company. An investment of $25 billion (2 trillion rupees) is planned to start the services. Ambani claimed that Jio 5G will be the most advanced and world’s largest 5G network.
The Richie Rich of the country also said that this advanced network would have zero dependence on 4G technology. According to him, the rival operators in the industry are in hurry, as most competitor companies are deploying a non-standalone 5G version that is a 5G radio signal delivered by pre-existing 4G infrastructure. It is done by them just to claim the launch of 5G services, but it would not deliver the significant improvements and capability possible with the 5G technology.
Stand-Alone 5G is Actual 5G
Jio is all set to introduce the advanced version of 5G technology, the Stand-Alone 5G with zero dependence on 4G technology. The advent of Stand-Alone 5G would deliver advanced and powerful services such as massive machine-to-machine communication, latency connectivity, Edge computing, network slicing, 5G voice, and the metaverse.
Reliance Jio is far ahead of the competition in the telecom sector, due to the major advantages of being the only telecom operator company that has the right mix of 5G wireless spectrum, acquired during the 5G auction conducted by the Department of Communications. Along with this, it owns a 35OO MHz mid-band and the 26 GHz millimeter-wave band that facilitates ultra-high capacity, turning out to be a distinct advantage over competitors.
Jio is the only operator that captures the 700MHz low band spectrum necessary for broad indoor coverage. The industry giant combines both the network, 26 GHz millimeter-wave band, and 700 MHz low-band spectrum to develop a single powerful data highway with advanced technology known as Carrier Aggregation.
During the 5G auction, Jio stood out as the only company to get the 700MHz in 22 telecom zones. The spectrum with such frequency can provide a signal range of 6 to 10 km with one tower and hence offers a good base for providing advanced 5G services. The 700MHz band allocation is the prime contributor to winning against the mobile data explosion challenge in the telecom industry for deploying new mobile broadband networks and capacity.
Reliance Jio is on the competitive edge, as these things provide three major advantages to the company for starting 5G operations. It includes Stand-Alone 5G architecture, the largest mix of the spectrum, and the Carrier Aggregation. This is how, Jio is all set to ready for launching the fastest 5G services with quality, affordability, coverage, and capacity.
