EA Madden NFL 19 game removes Colin Kaepernick’s name from a soundtrack

Colin Kaepernick, former quarterback of the NFL team San Francisco 49ers took the NFL by storm when he started protesting against the racial injustice prevailing in the United States.

Kaepernick who protested against the unlawful force used the police force in the United States by taking a knee during the national anthem before the start of every match has seen his name being removed from a song on the NFL computer game Madden 19’s soundtrack.

The 30-year-old has been without a team since March 2017, after he decided to opt out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers.

Kaepernick led the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl XLVII against the eventual champions Seattle Seahawks has been an influential figure in the NFL despite being out of the league since 2017.

The developer of Madden 19, EA Sports in a statement said that it messed up and made an unfortunate error.

The song Big Bank by YG had Kaepernick’s name in it, which the developers of Madden 19 removed digitally.

Kaepernick’s name normally appears in the song in a verse by rapper Big Sean and the developers EA gave out a statement saying that the digital removing of Kaepernick’s name from the song should have never happened.

Rapper Big Sean let his disappointment know by posting a tweet on social media in which he said that he was disappointed and appalled that the name was removed as if it was a curse word. He also added that Kaepernick is not a curse, but a gift.

The developers EA said that it will rectify the mistake in its latest update to the game, that is releasing on Monday.

Kaepernick thanked rapper Big Sean for his support.

EA Sports in a statement said, “Members of our team misunderstood the fact that while we don’t have rights to include Colin Kaepernick in the game, this doesn’t affect soundtracks. We meant no disrespect, and we apologize to Colin, to YG and Big Sean, to the NFL, to all of their fans and our players for this mistake.”

It was in August 2016 that Kaepernick first started the protests by sitting down during the national anthem, before opting to taking a knee instead.

Many other pro-football players have followed the suit started by Kaepernick, which has both gained support from many as well as led to criticism.

Most recently last year, President Donald Trump heavily criticized the players kneeling down during the national anthem and asked the NFL to change is rules.

Kaepernick has filled grievance against the team owners of the NFL, believing that they are conspiring to not hire him because of his protests.

Kaepernick has received the Amnesty International’s highest honor for his protests against the racial injustice.

The NFL recently established a new set of rules in which the players which it stops its players from kneeling down on the pitch during the national anthem and have said that it will fine both the player or the member and the club, if any of its player or member are found taking a knee on the pitch. Instead NFL have said that those who want to protest can choose not to be on the pitch while the national anthem is being played and continue with their protests.

Many players and owners have criticized the law set by NFL, while many like the members of the Dallas Cowboys team have been in favor of the rule.
