Microblogging platform Twitter has named Parag Agrawal as its CTO, as per a report on the firm’s site.
Agrawal, a former student of IIT-Bombay and a PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University, succeeds Adam Messinger.
Messinger had left the firm in late 2016.
As the CTO, Agrawal is “leading technical strategy for the company and overseeing machine learning and AI across our product and infrastructure teams”, according to data accessible on Twitter’s site.
Agrawal had joined Twitter in 2011 as an Ads Engineer and has from that point forward drove endeavors on scaling Ads frameworks, and in addition making and conveying a platform for online machine learning.
Preceding joining Twitter, he researched in substantial scale data management with collaborators at Yahoo! Research, AT&T Labs and Microsoft Research.
