Warner and de Kock charged by the ICC

Australian batsman David Warner and South Africa’s Quinton de Kock have been charged by the ICC for an episode after the 1st Test in Durban.

Video film seems to demonstrate Australia’s Vice-Captain David Warner being restrained by his teammates during an exchange with wicketkeeper De Kock.

The two players have until Wednesday to react to the charges.

Warner was accused of a level two offense, De Kock with a level one.

A level two offense conveys three or four negative points, while a level one offense conveys maybe a couple, which means Warner could be banned for one Test, while the heaviest punishment De Kock faces is a fine.

Vice-Captain David Warner got the full support of his coach Darren Lehmann, who said they were “certainly supporting David”.

Australia won the 1st Test by 118 runs. The 2nd Test begins on Friday at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth.
