Paul George is still a Thunder

When Thunder traded Oladipo and Sabonis for Paul George, who was on the last year of his Pacers contract to form the Big Three with Melo and Westbrook, many suggested that it was a giant risk. Largely, due to the fact that Paul George wanted to go home and be a Laker. A struggle in the regular season coupled with first round exit against Utah Jazz made it seem all but inevitable that George will pack his bag and join LeBron as a Laker to compete for the Championship. But, the free agency scenario changed when Playoff P decided that he wanted to play with Westbrook, who is often regarded as tough to play with and signed a four year $137 million deal. Reportedly, he loved the organisation so much that he made this decision without even considering to meet with the Lakers.

George, a five time All-Star, averaged 21.9 ppg, shooting 43% from the field during the regular season and is one of the best two-way players in the league and an asset to a team that has championship aspiration. Being his second season with the Thunder and without a less than effective Carmelo Anthony on the roster, the Thunders are expected to have a better regular season record and a deeper playoffs run the coming season competing in Western Conference against the likes of Warriors, Rockets and the Lakers.
