“Black Mirror” technology, Police in China goes hi-tech to catch suspects

Surveillance in China implies that the experts know basically every little thing about you at whatever point you show up on camera. Presently police there have another weapon with which to battle crime and catch hoodlums: high-tech glasses that take into account facial recognition at the push of a button.

As the Hong Kong Free Press reports, in the city of Zhengzhou, four cops have begun wearing these glasses while watching the city’s east station. There is a camera mounted over the left eye and the glasses are connected to a smartphone-like handheld device. Whenever worn, an officer can look towards an individual, take their photograph, and have that individual’s face recognized and all their data raised on the handheld.
